On March 22, 1999 Adam came to work as a seasonal grounds maintenance employee at Gethsemane Cemetery. Soon after that a full time position became available at Calvary Cemetery and Adam transferred to that position. Subsequently Adam transferred back to Gethsemane and in March 1999 Adam was promoted to Foreman of Gethsemane and St. Patrick Cemeteries. Adam first worked in cemeteries in both Illinois and Florida. When asked how he started in this profession he said: “After a year in the computer field, I quit my job. On the way home I passed a cemetery. I pulled in and got hired. I fell in love with the ministry it offered families.” He loves getting to know the families who visit the cemetery. A favorite memory that Adam has was being asked to serve as a pall bearer of a man who frequently visited his wife’s grave. Adam enjoys video games, remote control vehicles, but most especially enjoying a family day of fun.
